7 Things You Didn't Know About Black Pug

Today, we're going to dedicate this article and talk about cute black pugs. If you've never owned a black pug before, then, you've missed on a lot of cutest and joy in your life. All dogs are amazing! We love all dog breeds, no doubt about that. However, I personally love black pugs, there's something about these dogs that I really love and I can't explain what it is.

So, I decided to tell you 7 things you didn't know about black pugs. You'll get to know how awesome they really are and maybe decided to add a black pug to your family after reading this.

Let's find out...

7 Things You Didn't Know About Black Pugs:

Generally, pugs are also called canine clowns since they are very sturdy, short and stout. Black pugs are very fun pets and they're unbelievably cute. They have big, bulging eyes and a little-squished face.

1. Pugs Are Very Energetic!

First of all, you should know that despite how small they are, black pugs are very energetic. Surprisingly, black pugs can get bored quickly if they don't play and exercise on a daily basis. If you're not an energetic person and love to have fun and play, then pugs are not for you. Although black pugs are an indoor dog, they love getting some fresh air. It'll be really cute to take your black pug for a walk in thepark for 30 minutes.

You'll also enjoy the benefits of a healthy 30-minute walk outdoors. Just keep your pug energetic and occupied to maintain their good health.

2. Black Pugs Are Unique:

Amazingly, people who have black pugs are lucky! Black pugs are rare, but they're not that rare. The rarest type of pugs is the silver colored pug. I wish to come across one and cuddle forever! The common color that you'll always find is the brown pugs.

Sadly, there are a lot of breeders who'll charge you more if you wanted a black pug. They'll try to convince that it's a very rare color when actually, it's not that rare.

Just find yourself another breeder other than the one who keeps telling you and insisting that it is very rare to find one.

3. Hard Time Training Pugs:

Well, since I have a black pug, I totally agree that pugs are very hard to train. You can train German Shepherds, Golden retrievers, etc just fine, but when it comes to black pugs it's hard!

Here's why?

As I said, they're very energetic dogs and have a willful temperament and behavior. For that particular reason, black pugs are hard to train.

So, can you train your black pug?

Definitely! They are very smart dogs, so you need to be ahead if your pug in their training techniques.

Pugs will get easily bored with the same training technique, so make sure you try different training techniques frequently.

4.Pugs Are Willful:

I love how my pug is funny, full of personality, funny and loves to play around. But, pugs will jump into the chance and seize any opportunity they get to take control! They'll want to take control of you, a situation, or maybe the house!

Make sure that the minute you bring a black pug home, that they know who is boss! Basically, pugs love to guard anything and they're amazing guarders. You can find them guarding their toys, their food, a piece of furniture or maybe the whole house!

5. Pugs are Amazing Family Member:

All dogs make a good family member! We all believe that every dog deserves a home! If you're expecting a baby, pugs are great with babies! Also, they're very playful with kids! I have never a kid that doesn't want to play with pugs! Pugs are just so playful and energetic!

Moreover, pugs get along well in a nice family environment.

If you're thinking of a dog to get for an elderly, then you should definitely get a black pug. Actually, pugs make an amazing lap friend that will keep your beloved elderly accompanied.

6. Pugs Hate Summer!

Pugs really hate hot weather and don't handle it pretty well. Since clack pugs are an indoor dog breed, they need to be at an optimal temperature. If you haven't already noticed, black pugs have short nasal and snout passages. This means that your pug's body temperature can easily heat up and have breathing problems.

Unfortunately, pugs cannot regulate their body temperatures and are prone to hypothermia. Never leave your pug outside in the yard on a very sunny day!

7. Pugs Gain Weight Easily:

Finally, pugs can gain weight regardless of how active they are! Black pugs are a very small breed, so gaining weight is very easy if you gave them more food than what they should eat!  Also, if you neglect your pug's exercise needs and they get lazy, there's a high chance they'll become obese.

Make sure to keep your black pug active and eat the perfect amount of food.

These were the 7 things you didn’t know about black pugs! If you're a lucky one and have a black pug, let me know! Cheers!

Brindle and white pugs are not real pugs anyone can tell you that unless we are talking about albino or pugs with pigment issue wise which is medical and that condition tends to make your pug have a shorter life span and a lot of medical issues. Fawn pugs are not rare either. Black pugs are just something you rarely see in person but doesn’t make them impossible to find. I think this author is not that informed on pugs. However is correct on pugs being extremely hard to train unless done right and also gain weight easily. Although, that doesn’t mean every pug is the same. Pugs are not energetic dogs. All pugs whether it’s a black or fawn one can get hot easily. That’s any dog that has a lot of fur and a hard time breathing due to their snout being small or their nostrils being too close together.
